Innodisk Releases 4TG2-P E1.S Edge Server SSD with Wide-Temperature Support from -40°C to +85°C

On November 13, Innodisk announced the launch of its latest 4TG2-P SSD series, designed specifically for edge computing servers. The 4TG2-P SSD uses the EDSFF E1.S form factor and supports a wide temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, catering to the rugged demands of industrial environments and extreme-edge applications.

The 4TG2-P series fills a market gap between traditional industrial SSDs and data center SSDs. Unlike typical server SSDs that rely on "integer capacities" with over-provisioning (OP), the 4TG2-P is available in capacities ranging from 512GB to 8TB, making it versatile for various storage needs.

Featuring a PCIe 4.0×4 interface and compliant with NVMe 1.4 protocol, this SSD leverages high-endurance 3D TLC NAND with a program/erase cycle (P/E) rating of 3000. The 4TG2-P achieves sequential read speeds of up to 6900 MB/s and write speeds of up to 4700 MB/s, with a peak power consumption of 12W. It also includes Power Loss Protection (PLP) technology to safeguard data during unexpected power outages, and it boasts an endurance rating of 1 DWPD (Drive Writes Per Day).

According to Wu Xixi, General Manager of Innodisk's Industrial Flash Division, the 4TG2-P SSD series positions itself as a cutting-edge solution in the edge server market. It brings together the high durability, large capacity, and low latency needed to address demands triggered by edge AI, expanding Innodisk’s footprint into the burgeoning edge computing landscape.
